The Nightlife Ratio: Best Venues for Ladies in NYC

The Nightlife Ratio: Best Venues for Ladies in NYC

When it comes to nightclubs in New York City where the number of guys dominates the number of girls, there are a few simple places to look: sports bars, strip clubs, and bottle service venues. Head to any one of these places and you’re bound to see more dudes drinking in packs than women standing around in circles, doing their own dance in a circle routine, avoiding all contact with the guys around them. But watch out – the ladies who frequent these venues obviously know where to stalk their prey in this city. So sharpen your claws, throw on that padded push-up bra and get ready for a catfight before heading to any one of these venues with the best ratio of men for the ladies.

Quo
511 West 28th Street
New York, NY 10001

Whether it’s the number of tables at this place, the half-naked go-go dancers swinging around the stripper poles, or the club’s location (right down the street from Scores), this place is flooded with guys. You’ll find them chilling at their VIP tables, scanning the crowd from the bar, or getting down to some of the best hip-hop DJs in the city on the newly redone dance floor. I haven’t quite put my finger on the draw, but I think it may have something to do with the fact that the ladies who DO show up dress like they’re in Vegas and really go wild on the dance floor. Girls: if you want to snag a guy at this place, pretty much all you have to do is show up; but if you want to snag a hot guy in this place, you’re gonna have to bring a whole lot more.

GalleryBar
120 Orchard Street
New York, NY 10002

Alright, so there is NO reason I can think of for guys to frequent this place, but for some odd one, they do. So instead of questioning their motives, I’m just going to accept the fact that this is a gold mine for meeting guys and head there with my fellow wing-women for a Thursday night outing. Although this place is strangely packed with boys (and well-dressed, good looking ones at that), it is also just packed in general. Get there too late and you’ll find yourself squeezing your way through the crowd for a single vodka soda, which would typically suck if you weren’t sandwiched between two hunky guys. And who knows, perhaps the crowded space will help you brush shoulders with Mr. Right sooner rather than later.

Sapphire
333 East 60th Street
New York, NY 10022

Yes, this place is a gentlemen’s club, and yes, some of the guys that spend their time here might be a little seedy, but there’s still no denying that this place gets way more guys than girls (for obvious reasons). Ok, so this one might be a bit of a cop out, but for ladies looking to go out in NYC and meet guys, this could be a profitable route to take – if you’re interested in the sort of guy that hangs out at strip clubs. It’s true that you never really know where you’ll meet someone, so catch a guy off-guard by bringing a few friends to this spot and grabbing a drink. Some might be confused, while others might immediately title you “dream girl” because you’re the type of woman who can walk confidently and comfortably into a gentlemen’s club.

M2 Ultra Lounge
530 West 28th Street
New York, NY 10019

M2 is another bottle service venue that attracts a huge crowd, predominantly comprised of well-dressed men who like to dance to good music and party the night away. We all know that the reason guys get tables are so girls flock to them, knowing they have money or at least booze and a table full of tipsy guys ready to engage in conversation or follow you to the dance floor. The great thing about M2 is that it’s huge – which means more options for the ladies. Get here with your girls on a Friday or Saturday night, and bring your designer duds as well as your A-game. Girls in this city know the ratio here is in their favor, so don’t be surprised if the competition is feisty.

McSorley’s Old Ale House
15 East 7th Street
New York, NY 10003

Besides being an excellent bar, and the oldest in the city, McSorley’s is definitely the sort of place a gang of good looking guys would pile into on a Friday night. Guys like beer, girls like guys and if you’re the sort of girl who likes guys and beer, then a night at McSorley’s would be right up your alley. It’s not as important to bring your A-game to this spot, but it is important that you know how to hang with the fellas. A cool girl who knows how to go easy on the cakey makeup and get along with the guys at this local haunt will have her choice of guys begging to buy her a pint in no time.
