WMC Recap: Loco Dice and Luciano @ The Shelborne Pool Party

by Stephanie Casanova
03.26.2010

The die-hard music fans were definitely out yesterday at the Shelborne Pool Party. Mesmerized by the slick beats of DJs Luciano, Loco Dice, Reboot, and Martin Buttrich; music heads danced till early night fall. Bright, colorful streamers cascaded over the pool and DJ booth and gave the party a young, carefree feel. With three main bars and two old-fashioned ice barrels full of beer, this venue wasn’t set out to impress any hot-shots; it was completely about the music.

People from all over the world enjoyed the hypnotic sounds poolside or in some of the spacious private cabanas, which encompassed a private bathroom and shower. The trademark Shelborne fountain was an eye-catching element that added youth and amusement to the already hyped-up atmosphere. With hands wailing in the air and major fist-pumping throughout each set, this event was considerably entertaining.  Lighthearted and friendly, the young hipsters that were sprawled out by the pool and terrace were completely moved by the magnetic beats offered throughout the day. Certainly not a party for the faint-hearted, music lovers were enthralled by the high-energy, non-stop rhythms that embody the Winter Music Conference.
