The Top Ten Winter Music Conference Parties

The time has come for Miami to turn into a hotbed of music, sex, drugs and celebration as Winter Music Conference is finally here! People have been waiting for this week since the events ended in 2009, but this coming Tuesday night the colossal electronic dance music event begins, and this year is set to outdo all previous years. There are literally hundreds of events going on in South Beach and downtown Miami, so many of you WMC newbies may be a bit clueless as to what parties to hit up. Well, that’s why we’re here. We’ve scoured our event listings and produced the top ten Winter Music Conference parties. If you’re smart, you’ll get tickets to all of these asap!

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Danny Howells @ BED
Wednesday, March 24th

We’ve been waiting for this one as soon as it ended during last year’s Winter Music Conference. Danny Howells brings Dig Deeper back to BED where last year it was definitely one of the top parties we attended. We recently caught up with Danny and he shows no signs of weakness as he goes into this event. Expect an even better set than last year, he recently got a few weeks up so he’ll be fully charged up for this signature event. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Welcome to Miami @ Nikki Beach Club
Wednesday, March 24th

Although Juicy Beach gets most of the attention when it comes to Winter Music Conference day parties, Welcome to Miami at Nikki Beach may be the best ticket you get for the moneys worth. The beach stage will feature names like Tocadisco, ATFC, Donald Glaude, Paul Harris and Tom Novy. But the real surprise this year comes in the form of a rap producer’s special DJ set and live performance. Lil Jon’s going to be part of the Welcome to Miami party this year, so don’t miss him at all. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Juicy Beach @ Nikki Beach Club
Thursday, March 25th

One of the first parties to always announce its lineup is Robbie Rivera’s Juicy Beach at Nikki Beach Club. As soon as the roster was released this year we predicted an even bigger outcome than last year. With Joachim Garraud, Funkagenda and Antoine Claraman being the top three names on the bill, you can bet your ass that this one will be a sold-out event. Robbie’s also going to get behind the decks and do his thing, and that never falls short for the crowd. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Cadenza vs. Desolate @ The Shelborne Beach Resort
Thursday, March 25th

Last year The Shelborne hosted a little event titled, Cadenza vs. Desolate, featuring the labels’ two biggest names, Loco Dice and Luciano. When these guys do their thing it’s in impeccable style, and last year’s riot will definitely be hard to top, but we’re thinking that this year’s party could definitely outdo it. People were desperately trying to get into the sold-out show last year, but they were turned away at the door due to capacity. If you want to avoid that this year, get your ticket now. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: ViVA @ The Space Terrace
Thursday, March 25th

Steve Lawler has what we think is one of the most unique labels in the world in ViVA. This year their back at Club Space again and taking over the infamous Terrace. Lawler will be headlining the event, but you don’t want to miss sets from M.A.N.D.Y., Tiefschwarz, Timo Maas and Joris Voorn among others. This party has what we think is one of the best lineups of Winter Music Conference in 2010. We’ll definitely be in attendance so stay tuned for our recap the following day. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Lights Out Miami @ BED
Friday, March 26th

Last year Steve Lawler’s ‘Lights Out Miami’ party didn’t go over so well. It was shut down due to capacity issues at Nocturnal. But this year he’s looking to steer clear from any and all problems, and he’s moved his party to BED. This is the perfect venue for this party, but we still think there’ll be capacity issues because it’s a pretty small venue for such a great party. If the staff at BED stay on track and handle the door well, expect Steve Lawler to serve up one of the best sets of WMC 2010. He’s looking to after it didn’t work out last year. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Ultra Music Festival @ Bicentennial Park
Friday, March 26th & Saturday, March 27th

Not much of a party, but more of a colossal event, each year Ultra Music Festival takes over Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami for two days of lights, sounds and bodies moving. Although it seems as though each year they add more and more live music acts, this is still one of the premier electronic dance music events in the nation. This year you’ll see a lot of familiar names, i.e. David Guetta, Carl Cox, Deadmau5…but there are also some pleasant surprises in the form of Passion Pit, Little Boots and Nas and Damian Marley. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Get Physical @ Charcoal Studios
Saturday, March 27th

Get Physical was easily our favorite party of the past couple of Winter Music Conferences, so it’s no surprise that its made our list of top Winter Music Conference parties. Although Audiofly isn’t playing this year (the duo that supplied what we thought was one of the best sets last year) M.A.N.D.Y. is sure to pick up the slack, as well as special sets by DJ T, DJ Hell, Heidi and dOP live. Charcoal Studios will host the event, making it an interesting venue change for a party that’s used to 11th Street. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: David Guetta @ Mansion
Saturday, March 27th

One of the biggest names in electronic dance music in the past year has been David Guetta. He’s really made some moves to bring EDM to the forefront of mainstream music, teaming up with the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Akon and Kelly Rowland. Now it’s time for him to do what he really loves to do most…DJ. Guetta will host his F*** Me I’m Famous party at Mansion, where we think the biggest crowd of the night will be. Expect a lot of celebs at this one. P Diddy made an appearance last time. Click here for more information and tickets.

Top Winter Music Conference Party: Sunday School for Degenerates @ Ice Palace
Saturday & Sunday, March 27th 28th

Calling all true music heads, everyone’s favorite party is back again this year! Sunday School for Degenerates returns this Winter Music Conference at Ice Palace. As usual, the lineup for the event is already getting everyone’s attention, featuring Victor Calderone, Adam Beyer, Adultnapper, Danny Howells, Lee Burridge and many more. This event is known to many as the official finish line for Winter Music Conference, so if you’ve made it this far, then consider yourself a worthy WMC attendant. Click here for more information and tickets.
