With the Super Bowl in its recent past, the city of Miami Beach prepares to host yet another economically boosting event as Winter Music Conference’s 25th anniversary approaches. The event long stands as a celebration of the music industry's universal platform, attracting close to 100,000 attendees on average each year and well over one million visitors to its online site. Taking place on the week of March 22nd, the alluring music event will be held at the newly, re-designed Eden Roc resort. South Beach’s vibrantly, multi-colored streets set an awe-inspiring backdrop for the widely recognized festivities, featuring a couple thousand artists and DJs, who all come together to collectively celebrate and appreciate the art that is music.
Currently, a WMC ticket is valued at $425. This such ticket includes admission to all poolside events and entrance to all panels, seminars, both days of Ultra Music Festival, the International Dance Music Awards, Record Collectors Awards, South Beach Sessions, select exhibits and workshops and complimentary access to certain, but not all, nightclub events. It is definitely a pricey ticket, but certainly well worth the expense.
The city of Miami Beach is sure to benefit from this year’s Winter Music Conference, from an economical standpoint that is. With an average attendee rate of 70,000 (as seen during last year’s spectacular), hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are all said to make chart-topping revenues.
HOTELS--Being that music is such a worldwide phenomenon, many tourists will be traveling to the city from all parts of the world with the majority of them coming from within the United States. So before you’re left sleeping out on the streets, hurry up and book your hotel room now. When reserving your stay, be sure to check out these hotels: The Betsey, The W Hotel, The Fontainebleau, The Eden Roc, The Standard, The Mondrian, The Delano, The Setai and Hotel Victor. Any of these lavish South Beach hotels are sure to give you the comfort you desire after a day or night full of events.
RESTAURANTS—Whether you are looking for an easy-on-the-wallet dining experience or a more extravagant sit-down dinner, South Beach has the accommodations to fit various needs. If you consider yourself a fast, on-the-go eater, you might want to hit up these famously delicious joints: Five Guys Burgers and Big Pink—they’re my favorites. These restaurants range in prices from about $15 to $30 a person. On the other hand, there are those that prefer a more intimate, high-end, sit-down dinner; don’t miss out on what STK, Scarpetta, Hakkasan and the Blue Door have to offer. Either way, expect to see all these restaurants full for the week of Winter Music Conference, as all will soon be completely booked.
BARS—For the most part, hotels will be taking the spotlight when considering good bars to attend during this year’s WMC. This is because South Beach hotels, as of late, have transformed their hotel bars into something much more than your ordinary house bar. Make your way to the elegant bars of the Delano, Eden Roc, Hotel Victor and the Setai for an unforgettable lounging spot.
NIGHTCLUBS--The Opium Group, known for their visually captivating, lux venues and perfectly executed entertainment experiences, have compiled quite the impressive lineup for WMC 2010. Louis, Cameo, Mansion and Set will all be opening their doors, featuring widely renowned artists such as Bob Sinclair, Benny Benassi, Proxy, Kaskade, Calvin Harris, Axwell, Pryda, Steve Angello and many others. The average presale ticket, permitting venue access, starts at the affordable price of $30. And for the ultra exclusive, there are sumptuous VIP tables available, ranging anywhere from $1,500 to $5,000.
Let loose and venture out to experience Winter Music Conference, which, in fact, sits in a class all on its own.
