Miami’s nightlife scene is one of the best in the nation, bar none. There’s no negating the fact that we have some of the best nightclubs, bars and lounges in the nation, but as we like to say, great nightlife comes with great food. All around the world, wherever there’s a good nightlife destination, you can bet there will be a great eatery just around the corner, waiting for the massive crowds to exit the party and soak up their festive juices (sober them up). Miami has some spectacular afterhour eats, but we’ve gone ahead and narrowed them down to the top five.
Le Sandwicherie
229 14th Street
Miami Beach, FL 33139
Sometimes all you need after a long night of partying are fresh veggies and deli meats tossed into a freshly baked baguette. May not sound like it’ll hit the spot right now, but walk out of any club in South Beach and you’ll see a line of people throwing orders at three guys behind a counter at Le Sandwicherie, one of the top afterhour eateries in the city. Open every single day from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m., this place is basically ready to take your order at all hours of the day. If you’re feeling really rough, we suggest getting one of their infamous smoothies, maybe those bananas and a heavy dose of vitamin C will do you some good.
La Moon Restaurant
144 SW 8th Street
Miami, FL 33130
Exiting a club as the sun starts to creep up on the city leaves many of us thinking, well, what’s for breakfast? But, while some of us would rather not go for bacon and eggs after slamming beers, shots, and that Piña Colada that happened to appear in your hand, it’s a greasy plate of deliciousness that we crave. Not to say that the food at La Moon is greasy (actually far from it), but where else at 4 a.m. can you find a burger with bacon, ham, crispy fries, five sauces and an egg on top? Yea, didn’t think so. The Columbian cuisine here is amazing, and has even been featured on the hit TV show, Man vs. Food. Even if it’s not late, we suggest you hit up La Moon, one of the top afterhour bites in Miami.
Casola’s Pizza
2437 SW 17th Avenue
Miami, FL 33145
It may not be authentic New-York-style pizza, but it’s definitely the closest you’ll get in the city, not to mention the biggest slice around town. Casola’s is a staple for nightlife eaters in Miami, offering up an array of pizza, wings and Italian cuisine. The popular dish here is the regular cheese pie. A little bit of advice from us: if you’re hungry, just go with one slice. While you may think that it’s the size of your average slice, it's more like a medium pizza from most other restaurants. While you wait for your slice, feel free to grab a sample from their endless pizza pie plate, where the servers keep slicing up giant cheese slices into squares for customers to munch on while they wait for their order.
Pizza Rustica
863 Washington Avenue
Miami Beach, FL 33139
Pizza is the elixir of life… especially when you’re drunk. We just had to put two pizza places on our list of top afterhour eats in Miami, and Pizza Rustica is definitely one of the most popular slices you can get in South Beach, as well as Coral Gables, right now. You’ll find an array of pizzas lined up and ready to get heated up in one of their giant brick ovens for you. From spinach and blue cheese, to New York steak, there isn’t a slice at this place that won’t interest you. With three different locations in South Beach alone, you’re bound to run into a Pizza Rustica whether you’re partying on Lincoln Road, or just leaving Cameo nightclub on Washington Avenue.
David’s Café
1058 Collins Avenue
Miami Beach, FL 33139
Instead of going for a burger, a slice, or some dodgy meat on a stick, sometimes we need a full meal when we leave the club. That’s why in South Beach there’s David’s Café, a late night Cuban eatery that’s open… wait for it… 24 hours a day! Although they have a special "24 hour" menu, it isn’t as limited as you’d think. With everything from sandwiches to seafood and their infamous pork plates, you can have a full-on Cuban cuisine experience at this place at any hour of the day. Remember, you need something in that belly to soak up the mojitos, and Cuban food will do the trick.
