Latin nightspot, The Copacabana, which now hosts its parties at Columbus 72, is currently working on securing the space at 760 8th Avenue (formerly China Club, Eden), reports Daniel Maurer for Grub Street. The article goes on to say that owner John Juliano is hoping to install a retractable glass roof in the space, a trendy move these days (i.e. Hudson Terrace, Provocateur), especially with spring right around the corner. “The club will plead their case to Community Board 5’s quality of life committee on March 3 and hopes to open about three months from now,” the article continues. Our fingers are crossed – wouldn’t you love to salsa dance under the open sky this summer?
