The city of New Orleans has a lot to celebrate this weekend; The Big Easy will be kick starting their Mardi Gras festivities, as well as celebrating the Saints’ first Super Bowl win. Bourbon Street and the French Quarter will be a wild rumpus, with beads being won and hurricanes being guzzled. People from all over the country will be flocking to New Orleans to take part in the world-famous festivities.
If you are one of the many stuck in snowy New York, have no fear – there is ample opportunity to party like you’re at Mardi Gras. Start your weekend at MJ Armstrong’s for a big dose of Big Easy fun. M.J. Armstrong’s will be hosting, “A Night of Masks, Music and Drinks,” tonight, Friday, February 12. Prizes will be given to the partier with the most beads, so be prepared for a wild and “flashy” night.
Continue the drunken debauchery on Saturday, February 13, with the 2nd Ave Mardi Gras Stroll. Taking place from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., the Mardi Gras Stroll will keep you in the New Orleans spirit all day long. Participating bars include TG Whitney’s, Turtle Bay, Redemption, Opal, and more. Each location offers amazing drink specials, such as $2 Miller Lites and $4 Hurricanes, and you receive reduced admission if you donate two cans of food for City Harvest. So go get your drink and charity on this Saturday all in the name of Mardi Gras!
