Top Romantic Destinations in LA

Los Angeles might not be the first place that comes to mind when someone says “romantic destination,” but around the hustle and bustle of Hollywood there are some really beautiful and romantic local venues to take the one you love (or want to impress). Valentine's Day, of course, is the perfect day to share a romantic date, and as it turns out, the most romantic spots in L.A. just happen to be the most natural.

Top Romantic Destination in LA: The Beach in Malibu (Moonshadows or Geoffrey's)
You don’t need a fancy restaurant to have a romantic day when you have the beach as your neighbor. Whether you play in the water, lie in the sand, teach your date to surf or just sit and enjoy the sunset, you can’t go wrong with a romantic trip to the beach. If you just want the views without sand between your toes, head to Moonshadows or Geoffrey’s in Malibu for a romantic meal by the sea.

Top Romantic Destination in LA: The Getty
The Getty has everything you need in a romantic destination: gardens, views, roses and beautiful art. Have a picnic in the Getty Gardens designed by Robert Irwin, a work of art itself, while taking in breathtaking 180-degree views of downtown L.A., Santa Monica, San Bernardino and the Pacific Ocean. After lunch, wind yourself through the garden around stone walls and waterfalls and enjoy the artwork inside the Getty by artists like Van Gogh, Monet and Degas.

Top Romantic Destination in LA: Hotel Bel-Air Terrace
If sophistication and elegance are your goals for the perfect romantic destination, then the dining terrace at Hotel Bel-Air is the perfect choice. Just off busy Sunset Blvd., Hotel Bel-Air is a landmark of old Hollywood and a boardroom for L.A. business. Share a meal under bougainvillea vines and take in views of swans swimming across the pond while weeping willows and avocado trees surround you. Sounds almost like a movie.

Top Romantic Destination in LA: Takami Sushi and Robata Restaurant
If you want the big city romantic experience, but don’t want to hop on a plane to Chicago or New York, grab your date and take a short drive into Downtown L.A. for an amazing meal at Takami Sushi and Robata Restaurant. Twenty-one floors above Downtown L.A., this restaurant boasts some of the best views in the city and is particularly beautiful at sunset; the light hits Takami Sushi unlike any other restaurant in L.A. With the view, the amazing food and the intimate setting, this place is a definite winner for a romantic evening. After dinner, make your way next door to Elevate Lounge for a night of dancing to accompany your lovely meal.

Top Romantic Destination in LA: The Pacific Ocean
Head West to enjoy one of the most romantic destinations in Los Angeles: the Pacific Ocean. Take your date on a gondola ride, rent a sailboat or yacht, or arrange a dinner cruise for two - you can’t go wrong when gliding over the ocean. If you are the adventurous type, whale watching, deep-sea fishing, wake boarding or scuba diving could be the perfect romantic date for two. The possibilities are endless and enjoying the ocean doesn’t cost a thing.
