For many nightclub fanatics around the nation, and even the world, Miami is a hotbed and at times considered a mecca for that type of entertainment. With some of the best and most exclusive nightclubs in the nation, Miami has the reputation that ranks with the elite, but don’t get it wrong, some of these venues won’t just let any Joe Shmoe waltz right in with their crew. There are is a standard set, and many of times we’ll never know exactly what they are, but you can bet your ass that the doorman will. That’s why we’ve decided to give you a heads up and list the toughest doors in Miami nightlife. When it comes to these venues people, it’s either you bring your A-game or you plan on another party destination.
Toughest Door in Miami: SET
320 Lincoln Road
SET is known as the most exclusive and beautiful nightlife venue in the city, but at the same time it’s notorious for its policy at the door. What that policy is we don’t know, but their main doorman, the infamous Cedric, probably has a pretty good idea. You may think that you’re on the list at this place, but most of the time the fate of your night is up to this guy, which is why SET is definitely one of the toughest doors in Miami. If you ask us, just keep your cool at the door, and whatever you do, dress like you’re someone; if you wear anything near a t-shirt or jeans at this place we hope you enjoy standing behind the velvet rope….for the entirety of the night.
Toughest Door in Miami: LIV Nightclub
4441 Collins Avenue
LIV is more like a nightclub that was intended to be at the heard of the Las Vegas strip, but somehow landed right in Miami Beach. It’s big, and we mean really big. The lighting at this place is truly a spectacle as well as the aura of exclusivity. But be ready to shell out some serious cash, because if you’re at a nightlife venue in Miami that’s deemed as exclusive, it usually means that the drinks are far from cheap. While it may be easy to get into earlier in the week, when it comes to Friday and Saturday nights, the door gets a lot tougher. That’s when the socialite/A-list Miami nightlife crowd comes out to grab the best table in the venue, and spend whatever’s left of their Trust Fund money on table service.
Toughest Door in Miami: Mansion
1235 Washington Avenue
Mansion nightclub throws some of the most popular parties in the city. For about a year they’ve been conquering nightlife bookings in the city by bringing in superstar DJs each and every Saturday night…and that’s not something that’s easy to do. When a superstar DJ comes into town on a Saturday night, you can expect the doors to be packed at these venues, and not everyone will get the opportunity to come inside. That’s why Saturday night at Mansion can be seen as one of the toughest nights of the week to come and party. If you didn’t already get a ticket for the event, expect to wait in line for quite some time. Remember, not everyone ahead of you may be dressed like you, or may be as nice and polite as you, so they’ll definitely be holding you and your night up.
Toughest Door in Miami: Mynt
1921 Collins Avenue
Sometimes the door at a club or a lounge is tough just because not everyone can fit in the damn place. But at Mynt, it’s not only because it’s a smaller venue, but because they don’t want any of the riff-raff hanging around, only beautiful women and the type of guys that can get these girls…aherm, money helps sometimes. Mynt is known as having one of the toughest doors in the city, and don’t be surprised to see some of the same doormen around at different venues. If they’re good at keeping the A-listers in and the B-listers out, chances are their services will be wanted throughout the nightlife scene.
Toughest Door in Miami: Mokaï
235 23rd Street
Recently bought up by the Opium Group, it looks like the door at Mokaï won’t be getting any more lenient. This place is definitely a hot-spot for models and socialites in the city, so if you’re not one of the above expect to get a weird look and a tough time at the door. In order to get into this place you either have to know the bouncer, be in cahoots with a promoter, or somehow get your name on that NFU list (and if you don’t know what NFU means, that’s N
