Top Miami Nightclubs for Music Connoisseurs

Some of us go out to get drunk, some of us go out to find some company for the night, but in Miami, a majority of the nightlife fanatics go out for the music. That’s right, there are people out there with more on their minds than a concoction at the bar and the blonde across the dance floor. These music fanatics are more excited about things like what tracks the DJ will play that night, or if or if not the speakers will be on point. That's why we’ve put together a little list of the top nightclubs for music connoisseurs in Miami.

Space
34 NE 11th Street

In Miami the DJ rules the club when it comes to music. While many in Miami hate the fact that we don’t have a live music scene like New York, Los Angeles or even Orlando, we do have some of the best DJs in the world visit the city on a continual basis. If there’s one club that gets some of the best EDM talent around (not to mention they also pack one of the best sound systems in North America) it has to be Club Space - one of the top nightclubs in Miami for music connoisseurs. Building their reputation as a supreme music venue with legendary parties by Erick Morillo, Steve Lawler and Deep Dish, week in and week out loyal fans of the venue line up outside to get a chance to party until the sun comes up inside, or on their legendary Terrace.

The Electric Pickle
2826 N. Miami Avenue

Once known as Circa 28, the Electric Pickle reinvented themselves last year, solidifying their place as one of the top nightclubs for music connoisseurs in Miami. They revamped the outside and downstairs bars, but the real difference comes in upstairs, where they’ve managed to bring in a Dynacord sound system that will rattle your soul once that bass kicks in. They’ve already hosted some great events with names like Damian Lazarus and Lazaro Casanova headlining, but they continue to try and beat out the rest of the competition in downtown Miami, and in this area the comp is no joke.

Shine at The Shelborne
1801 Collins Avenue

Shine may not put on as many events as they’d like, but when it comes time to throw down a serious party they have the equipment to do so. During last year’s Winter Music Conference they wowed everyone by hosting a series of events that were arguably the best, and this year it looks like they’ll be doing so again. The sound at Shine is custom and supplied by Steve Dash, and trust us when we say this, it’s a f#@%ing great system. The names they bring in to play the club are tastemaker, so you’ll only find the true music connoisseurs at this place. Sure it’s also a great club to grab a drink, but if you really like your music, stop by and you’ll see what we mean.

SET
320 Lincoln Road

Known as one of the most exclusive clubs in the city, SET is also one of the top nightclubs for music connoisseurs. It’s a gorgeous venue, but the size combined with the sound system makes for an auditory experience like none other. We were lucky enough to be part of one of the best events the club housed, Danny Howell’s 2008 Dig Deeper party during Winter Music Conference. Every week they pack the house on Sundays with their infamous Sundance party, and manage to constantly bring in big names to add to their resume. If you want to have the A-list experience combined with an audiophile's dream, this is the place to do so.
