Top Places to Celebrate Your Birthday in LA

Your birthday happens every year, but in Los Angeles most bars and clubs won’t even stay open until your next birthday, so every year brings another set of fun possibilities for where to celebrate. Los Angles has everything a nightlife scene can offer, from intimate bars to loud bass bumping clubs.  But for the avid club-goer birthdays are a chance to choose the friends you want around you and have fun together without screaming across a boring club table.  These bars, lounges and clubs are special, interesting and put an emphasis on creative cocktails and pleasing their guests.

Top Place to Celebrate Your Birthday in LA: The Edison
108 W 2nd St

Birthdays should be celebrated in historic proportions so naturally the best place to celebrate is in the historic Higgins building located near Harlem Place Alley, the place to be for musicians during the early 1900’s. The Edison is in the basement of the beautiful Downtown Los Angeles art-deco building that was built in 1910. Outfitted with chandeliers, dark furniture and the original central power generator visible through a glass wall, the spirit of the ‘20s is always roaring at this glowing and intimate space. Coming to The Edison means stepping into another world, from the strict dress code (dress refined and fun) and the waitresses in flapper outfits to the emphasis on hand crafted cocktails. Drinks aren’t cheap, but well worth it. Mixologists make classics like the Gin Fizz, Bermuda Sour and Old-Fashioned as well as adventurous libations like the Absinthe ’76: Kubler Absinthe, lemon, sugar and champagne.

Top Place to Celebrate Your Birthday in LA: Copa D’Oro
217 Broadway

Don’t let the smooth R&B music fool you, this lounge may be relaxed (and casual) but it means business when it comes to its cocktails and bar bites. Grab your friends and take a seat at the wood grain bar or private tables and decide whether you want to sit back and let the mixologist do all the work or dive right in and create your own drink!  Pick from over 24 spirits then add herbs, fruit, juice & nectar and vegetables to make the perfect birthday drink. But, since this is a party after all, the best bet at Copa D’Oro is definitely the punch which serves 10! Pick from four punches like the Hothouse Punch: Ketel One Citroen Vodka, Aperol, mint, blood Orange and soda. Happy Birthday!

Top Place to Celebrate Your Birthday in LA: Guys & Dolls
8713 Beverly Blvd

The only club on our list is Guys & Dolls. Fairly new to the Hollywood club scene, this swank and sophisticated spot has a smart focus on great cocktails and an indulgent atmosphere perfect for your birthday. An indication as to how grand Guys & Dolls is, the DJ booth is outfitted in LED lights and there are 21 chandeliers hanging in the center of the room to create one larger centerpiece. Sip on cocktails like the Cherry Lime Rickey and Smoking Cactus, or go for the casual bottle of Dom Perignon. Enjoy tiny treats like grilled cheese ordered from Jerry’s Famous Deli next door, and since you are here to celebrate YOU let the club concierge indulge your every need like say, a private jet… or a hotel room.

Top Place to Celebrate Your Birthday in LA: Bungalow Club
7174 Melrose Ave

If you can’t hop on a private plane to your dream destination, head to the Bungalow Club for a taste of Morocco right on Melrose. You go to Bungalow Club for the atmosphere so make sure to sit under the bungalows on the patio. The have a large food menu to please all of your friends, from sushi rolls to steak frites and are known for their mean martinis. Waterfalls, a fireplace and beautiful Moroccan light fixtures transport you to a land outside L.A. and even the scene is clear of typical Hollywood types.  This is also a great place for a very large party, since there are numerous bars and no wait to grab a drink.
