Every city that’s known for it’s nightlife has that one venue that all of the locals know about, but visitors really won’t notice until a nightlife addict in the city gives them the in. In Miami everyone’s pretty well aware of the Mansions and the Spaces, however, there are some low-key spots in downtown and South Beach that may go unnoticed. One nightlife staple in the city that’s always had the energy and right mix when it comes to party formatting is located just above a Chinese café right off of the infamous Lincoln road in South Beach, Buck 15. Once Buck 15 is mentioned in a conversation by any local it has always deemed as a valid destination for true partying. Although in Miami you may not hear about their parties too often, or see billboards in the city promoting them, there’s always a good vibe inside, no matter what night of the week.
Buck 15 doesn’t have the ordinary set up that you’d find at any nightclub or lounge in the city. It’s special in that it’s basically an attic, but while many of you may read that line and think, “Why the hell do I want to go to an attic,” think again (anyways, if you think like that you probably won’t fit in too well). It’s more of a good old house party than what you’d normally find in South Beach. Although many in the city label it “The Best Plan B in South Beach,” for us it’s just as good as a Plan A. There’s never attitude at the door, no dress code policy, and drinks at the bar won’t have your pockets in pain in the morning.
The party formatting at Buck 15 is simple and to the point, and it all starts on Tuesday nights with DJ Keen One’s Takeout Tuesday weekly. The party’s is one of the longest running in the city, and serves up some of the best hip-hop you’ll find. Another favorite night of the week is Fridays, and you’ll find one of Miami’s hardest working DJs, Ryan Evans, serving up all the sound. On this night you’ll get a nice eclectic crowd that ranges from the 20-somethings to the older folk that have been dying to take off the suit and tie from the dreadful workweek.
For us Buck 15 is a true party establishment in the city. If you don’t happen to get into your first option in South Beach, Buck 15 is always there to make sure that you’re night won’t end up with you taking a lonely cab home on the weekend. But don’t make this just an option, we recommend building your night around this place…trust us, you won’t regret it.
