Heavenly Nightlife Oasis: Highbar NYC

Heavenly Nightlife Oasis: Highbar NYC

Typically known as a summer hideaway, Highbar is actually a practical hangout all year round. Located on the West Side, Highbar is a chic rooftop oasis sixteen stories above the hustle and bustle of the big, bad city.

When you show up at Highbar, try to ignore the haunted house like entrance. Follow the arrows down the old hallway and head up the run down elevator. Once you finally bypass the weirdness, you will have finally found what you’re looking for: an awesome party on the penthouse floor.

Highbar is the newest creation courtesy of The Brier Group. In the past Brier has brought us Aspen, Amaila, and D’or, all of which had great success. Working with natural materials, such as slate tiles and bamboo, Highbar creates a feeling of stumbling into an imaginary world.

Located on the first floor, there is a large bar and lounge area. Right off the bar is where the DJ will be spinning all night long. There is, of course, room to dance under the retractable rooftop. To the right of the bar, is your exit to paradise. This part of the rooftop is still open during the winter, perfect if you need to head out for some fresh air. This area includes sprawling day beds, plush love seats, a bar and grill, as well as a huge UFO chair big enough for you and all your friends.

Downstairs is the VIP room where Highbar hosts your private parties.  Although it is open to the public as well, this is where bottle service takes place. This area is filled with wall to wall windows so you can witness the same view as you could from the roof.  It is the perfect placet to end your night, being that the top floor closes at 2AM.

All in all, Highbar is a cozy spot high above the city streets. It is guaranteed to become your favorite escape from the city, while still remaining in the city.
