Not a beer drinker? Not the sport’s bar type? No problem! If these questions describe you then we’ve got the list for you. We’ve put together a list of the top martini lounges in the city and we recommend you check them out!
Nic’s Martini Lounge
453 N. Canon Dr.
Beverly Hills, CA 90210
If a vodka martini is your drink of choice, this is the place for you. With their extensive martini menu and the Vodbox you are bound to find a drink to wet your whistle. Nic’s Vodbox is a room with the temperature set to 28 degrees, the perfect temperature for serving vodka, where bartenders will give you a rundown on the taste and origin of multitudes of vodkas. They even lend you a fur, not real of course, coat to wear into the room to keep from freezing. If you like dirty martinis make sure to try the “three olives dirty and cheese”.
Lola’s
945 N. Fairfax Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90036
Lola’s not only makes fabulous martinis, they make them a great deal as well. They have a “10 for $10” list and, even for this low price, the martinis are not only strong but good. The apple martini is the drink of choice for the regulars at this bar. The apple martini has an apple slice floating in the glass to soak up the alcohol. All of Lola’s martinis are made with real fruit slices in them. And if you get a chance catch happy hour and get ½ off martinis.
Side Door
900 Manhattan Ave.
Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
The Side Door is a small bar; it’s very cozy. But it can also get a little crowded on the weekends. The Side Door does not close until until 2am. If you are going to start drinking early in the evening make sure to eat before you go out. It will most likely prove to be a late night.
Liquid Kitty
11780 W. Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90064
When you see a huge blinking sign with a martini glass and a cigarette you will know you’ve arrived at the Liquid Kitty. With its dark walls and dark booths, it isn’t exactly what you’d expect from a martini bar. But that’s exactly what it is, a martini bar without all the snootiness. The martinis even come in two sizes, a regular and a large. The large is only eleven dollars. This bar is all around inexpensive, so no matter what your martini of choice is it won’t break the bank.
Veranda Bar
939 S. Figueroa St.
Los Angeles, CA 90015
Veranda Bar is your typical hotel martini bar. The décor is both swanky and comfortable. Whether you like fruity or sweet, they’ve got the martini for you. The espresso martini and pomegranite martini compliment the Veranda Bar’s appetizers to a T. But even if you got dragged along with all your friends and martinis aren’t for you, go with a Mojito, The Veranda Bar is famous for its blueberry Mojito.
The Well
6255 W. Sunset Blvd. 16th Floor
Los Angeles, CA 90028
If you like your martini’s extra dirty, try The Well. It is known for its hot and dry martini. This is a take-off on the regular dirty martini but with a spicy kick. The Well is more of a social club though, so if you’re looking for a dance club don’t pick this bar.
