By July 28th or before, the popular Las Vegas nightclubs Prive and Living Room at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino will be forced to shut down. The venues’ temporary liquor licenses will be revoked, permanent licenses denied and just 30 days to appeal.
Both Prive and Living Room have been operating with temporary liquor licenses, while being investigated by Metro for complaints of drug use, underage drinking, excessive drunkenness, assault, lewd activity, and prostitution. The Nevada Gaming Commission has fined Planet Hollywood $750,000. The Planet Hollywood casino doesn't operate the clubs, (they are run by The Opium Group) but has the gaming license and is responsible for what occurs inside.
The settlement allows Planet Hollywood to pay just $500,000 of the total $750,000 fine upfront, with the balance hanging over their heads for 12 months. Should Privé cause issues or commit further violations such as allowing toplessness or underage drinking, the $250,000 fine would kick in.
