Jay-Z has agreed to replace the Beastie Boys at the All Points West festival at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. This performance will be his first-ever set at a U.S. festival. The Beastie Boys are unable to attend All Points West and 3 more American shows in light of Adam Yauch’s upcoming cancer treatment.
Jay-Z will perform on July 31, opening night of the three-day event in Liberty State Park, along with fellow headliners Tool and Coldplay, as well as sets from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys and MGMT.
The addition of Jay-Z’s performance to the APW lineup may prevail over rock spectators by unveiling his collaboration with rockers MGMT, who are reported to appear on his upcoming The Blueprint 3 album.
