Las Vegas’ Top Hip-Hop Clubs

Las Vegas’ Top Hip-Hop Clubs

Dead Prez said it best – “One thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain.” What place is better than Vegas to painlessly fulfill all your indulgences while listening to some good music? While most clubs on the Strip play the usual trendy mash-up, Clubplanet has compiled a list of the places where you are guaranteed to find some hip hop mixed in.

JET @ Mirage Hotel & Casino
3400 Las Vegas Blvd S

JET is located in a huge, 15,000-foot space with four fully stocked bars and three distinct rooms to cater to every taste…in music. The main room features more mainstream music, including pop, hip-hop, and dance. Another has housed world-renowned DJs spinning house, and the last plays underground-everything, from 80s to rock. The laid-back environment is a stark contrast to the otherwise lavish hotel – which by the way, cost $630 million to build - so feel free to get wild, pop some bottles, and get down at JET.

Tryst @ Wynn
3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South

Tryst is the epitome of luxury in a city that is a beacon of everything opulent. It sets itself apart from the other Vegas clubs through its theme. At Tryst, you’ll hear the regular mix of hip hop, pop hits, and house, but the musical mix is in tune with the diverse crowds and feel of this Vegas club. It has a VIP area, a lounge, and a dance floor, each with it’s own theme. If the inside gets too stuffy, you can always venture out onto the outdoors dance floor. It is located inside Wynn, a $2.7 billion resort, so it’s worth the hundreds that you might spend on a good time just to check out the view. Make sure to get there early, and please, dress to impress! It’ll be worth it - how many clubs do you frequent that has a lake and a 100-foot waterfall under its roof?

PURE @ Caesar’s Palace
3570 Las Vegas Blvd S

Pure, located in the über-famous Caesars Palace, is a monster of a club. There are three huge dance floors inside, including the main room, which has had celebrity DJs and performances with performances that have included and Big Boi in the past, with DMX  hitting up the stage in the future, the Pussycat Dolls Lounge, with shows featuring the Pussycat Dolls and guests like Carmen Electra, and the Red Room, for the VIPs. It’s owned by Shaquille O'Neal, Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf and Celine Dion, and resident DJs have included DJ AM, so don’t be surprised if you rub shoulders with their celeb friends. This is the place to be fashionable, but not fashionably late. Admission skyrockets after midnight, and the place gets so crowded you might not be guaranteed an entrance.

XS at Encore
3131 Las Vegas Blvd

XS is located inside Encore, which is also within the walls of the Wynn Las Vegas. If you haven’t caught that XS is read like the word “excess”, you will figure it out once you step foot in this club. The 40,000 square foot nightclub opened in December of last year, and it cost a whopping $100 million to make. Unfortunately, the only thing not in excess at XS is hip-hop, although you might find the typical Kanye and Michael Jackson tribute mixed in with Lady Gaga. However, you should look past this, considering that the club is probably worth more than what the typical American would make in their lifetime. So if you want to head out to a place where you can have some fun in –ahem- excess, check out XS.

Moon @ Palms
4321 W. Flamingo Rd.

Sitting on top of the Palms Fantasy tower, above the Playboy Club, is Moon. It’s no wonder why they call it that – the masterminds behind the club, the N9NE group, made the club so that club-goers can enjoy the night views in Vegas, including the nearby infamous Vegas strip, and, well, the moon – via the club’s retractable ceiling. The lasers, furniture, and staff uniforms complete the futuristic, James Bond-like vibe that is expected from Moon. The club is exclusive, so make sure not to wear your fanny packs and Jesus sandals, but once in, you will find that the club caters to every musical taste.

Poetry
3500 Las Vegas Blvd, S. #L3

If you’re sick of the mixes and the mash-ups and you just want to hear straight up hip hop, head over to Poetry. This is the most exclusive hip hop club in Vegas, and the people behind poetry did not skimp on making sure that it would remain that way. The décor of this club is like no other – calligraphy joins the obligatory murals of beautiful women that usually adorn the walls of clubs, quoting verses from Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, and Tupac. You literatis out there can also rejoice in the fact that there are four bars scattered throughout the club, each named after a different poet. So pop that Cîroc bottle, kick back, and enjoy the Poetry.
