Nightlife’s Flying Lion: Gryphon Nightclub

There are nightclubs located on a particular strip in town, where visitors are easily tempted to party hop from one venue to the other, but then there’s a completely different party establishment only known as the ‘casino nightclub.’ Vegas is very familiar with these, but many other cities all across the nation just aren’t. Although Miami’s primarily known for South Beach, what many visitors may not know is that if they take a short 25-minute drive north, they’ll run into a very familiar name in the casino circuit, The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Here you can indulge in blackjack, poker and slots, but it’s the entertainment complex that’ll you’ll want to look for, and we’re not talking arcades and rides, we’re talking bars and nightclubs. One of the most prominent clubs in South Florida can be found here, and if you ask anyone around, Gryphon is truly the quintessential party destination.

Created by John J. Surgent and nightclub impresario Michael Ault (a name that’s synonymous with other venues across the nation), Gryphon was expected to be special from the start. Every single aspect of this club truly signifies what a nightclub should be, from its service to its sound. That’s exactly why it’s familiar with celebrity names like Kid Rock, Jamie Fox, Dennis Rodman, Joanna Krupa and Jessica Simpson.

One of the first things that stick out when it comes to Gryphon is its name, which was chosen to symbolize the mythical creature that dominates both the earth and the sky, and they’ve used this symbolism throughout the venue when it comes to their aesthetics. Seductive, stylish and innovative, Gryphon’s décor is like non-other, featuring a European-style dance floor, a dramatic steel rod ceiling installation, and an elevated VIP area to give its guests that extra superior feel. Not only that, but this area is strictly for bottle service and includes its own restrooms, security, bar and private entranceway.

The greatest aspect about Gryphon is everything that surrounds it, gambling, more bars and more clubs, all in one area. But when it comes to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, there’s only one place that you really should indulge in, and it’s Gryphon. Bringing in world-class DJs to serve up the sound on their Funktion-One sound system should be a dead giveaway.
