Summer in the Hamptons: it’s hot; almost too hot – at least, for the few of us who don’t have the hook-up – the hook-up being a house in the Hamptons, a car to get you there or an acquaintance of an acquaintance who knows someone else who has a rental for the weekend. The entity is typically the height of exclusivity. But, not anymore, as promotion has reared its debatably ugly head:
An unnamed promoter has reportedly offered a new service to those looking for a quick night out of the city. The service includes one of 50 coveted seats on a party, headed directly for Pink Elephant Southampton for its infamous Friday night party - and, only at a small fee of $20. The bus is said to depart from 23rd Street and 6th Avenue at 8PM on Fridays. The idea sounds a tad circus-caravan-sketch to us, but maybe that’s your style.
