Without a doubt, it’s safe to say that the longest running party in Miami has been Poplife. Around since 1999 and created by Ray and Paula Milian and Barbara Basti and Aramis Lorie, the party was thought up when nightlife really wasn’t offering anything up for them, so, they decided to create a party that they’d want to go to themselves. Poplife started up in the Gables, but then made its way into the Design District when it got much bigger. Since then they’ve managed to transform Poplife into a brand, rather than just a weekly.
Not only do they rule Saturday nights at White Room, but they also turned the Polish-American Club into a great indie dance rock venue, having names like Le Tigre, Peaches, Of Montreal and the Faint grace the stage. This Saturday night they’re doing it again at White Room, but this time there’s plenty to celebrate. Featuring a live performance by Snowden, and killer sets by DJs Blue Jemz, Prince Terrence, Aramis, Induce and Mike Deuce, it’s definitely gonna be an interesting bash.
