The Club's Foundation: Miami's Top Dance Floors

The modern day dance floor is quite the marvel. Traditionally, nearly every nightlife venue around the world would always have a dance floor, the ultimate communal area for dancing, moving, gyrating, or whatever else you refer it as. But now, it seems that bottle service is more important and in high demand, and furniture seems more fun to dance on than a 40ft.x40ft. area. However, there are still venues out there that stick to the old-school and believe that the dance floor is the key in creating the atmosphere that their establishment needs. Although for Miami dance floors are slim pickings, we’ve narrowed it down to the Top 5 dance floors that you should definitely try your two-step at.

White Room
1306 North Miami Avenue
Miami, FL 33136

Some of the best dance parties that Miami’s ever seen have been held at White Room. Why did they name it White Room? Well, if you happen to go to the dance floor area, the walls and everything surrounding you is…white! Considerably one of the brightest areas to dance in the city, White Room gives people with drunk goggles one more chance before making a mistake. On Saturday nights, Poplife, their Saturday party and longest running weekly in the city, goes off every single week, with dozens of sweaty hipster and wanna-be hipster kids tearing it up, putting it on our list of top nightclub dance floors in Miami. We’re not sure if it’s the white walls that does it, but this dance floor is a magnet for two-steppers.

The Electric Pickle
2826 N. Miami Avenue
Miami, FL 33127

The Electric Pickle is still a place that’s getting attention by the weekend. Previously known as Circa 28, the Pickle is know a much better version of what it was before, only with more of an EDM party format. Walk in and head upstairs and you’ll run into one of the top dance floors in Miami, placed directly in front of the DJ booth, traditional and sleek if you ask us. The sound system surrounding the communal dance area is a Dynacord, and if you’ve never experienced sound like this, then you definitely have to before you die. The room is dark and it’s the perfect setting for names like Damian Lazarus, petFood’s Jay-You and Lazaro Casanova and Jamie Jones. It’s no wonder it’s made our list as one of the top nightclub dance floors in Miami.

The Vagabond
30 NE 14th Street
Miami, FL 33132

The Vagabond is liked by nearly everyone in Miami. Why? Maybe because they don’t leave anyone out when it comes to their music formatting. No matter what it is, hip hop, electro, house, jazz, they have it all here. But they also have one of the top dance floors in Miami. Surrounding the corners of the dance floor is a Funktion 1 sound system, the kind audio technology that makes you feel the music rather than just hear it. Just like White Room, this place packs the house nearly every night with hundreds begging to dance up a storm, creating a foggy, sweaty, blissful atmosphere where you can leave your problems at the door and just let loose.

Karu & Y Ultra Lounge (The Buddha Garden)
71 NW 14th Street
Miami, FL 33136

If you’re ever in Miami, you have to stop by here. The dance floor in the Buddha Garden at Karu & Y Ultra Lounge is more of an experience than a setting. Wooden bridges that arch over a meandering peaceful river lead you to the outside dance floor that is surrounded by private island cabanas. During Winter Music Conference this place was known as the Techno Terrace, slamming the dance floor with a crowd pushing 800. The only word to describe the Buddha Garden is majestic…truly majestic, which is why it comes in high on our list as one of the top dance floors in Miami.

Club Space
34 NE 11th Street
Miami, FL 33132

Club Space. If there’s one club in this city that definitely should be on this list, it’s this one. This place is truly a mecca for electronic dance music, and each and every single week they pack the house over and over again. It’s dark, it’s big, and the sound is one of the best in North America. This is definitely the top dance floor in Miami. Whether it’s Paul van Dyk behind the decks, Steve Lawler, Erick Morillo, or even legendary Space residents like Oscar G., there’s enough room for you to really break it down and even have a dance-off or two. The bass on the dance floor creeps up from your feet and up into your chest, and that’s exactly why it’s on our list.
