The woes of recession can only keep some of us down. And Robert DeNiro is not one those people. Tomorrow, May 20th, will mark the opening of Locanda Verde, DeNiro’s second attempt at restaurant-ing in Tribeca. Reopened where the restaurant Ago once was, Locanda Verde will also feature Italian cuisine, by way of expert team-Ken Friedman of Spotted Pig, Andrew Carmellini of A Voce, and Karen DeMasco of Craft.

Featuring a home-style ambiance, the restaurant will pardon off the back room for private dining and the front of the restaurant for café service. If DeNiro’s restaurant is as refined as his acting, we are in for a treat.
