There’s always a special bit of excitement when you find out that a nightlife venue is closing up shop, only to be re-opened with new aesthetics in store, as well as that important name change. This is exactly what happened with Ritual in Hollywood. Last month they re-opened as Halo Lounge, and already the hotspot has been getting major attention from its A-list clientele as well as various media outlets.
Chris Breed and Eric James Virgets of Sunset Entertainment Group, the same people that brought you Green Door (and we all know how that one's doing), have turned Halo Lounge into a picture perfect depiction of what Old Hollywood glamour used to be all about. Starting from the entrance, which gives off the kind of vibe that you’d get if you were entering a very, very important building, to the plush seating and immaculate service, there isn’t any facet of this venue that hasn’t gotten the SEG touch.
When it comes to décor, they keep it simple, but at the same time they keep it sexy. Black and white décor all around the venue is adorned with exuberant crystals and glass bubble chandeliers, giving the space just the right amount of glow to give it that ‘other-worldly’ look. Come to any of the two bars in the venue, and you’re sure to be pleased with the staff behind the bar, offering up just what you need and surely exceeding your expectations. Grab a drink and have a smoke in the smoking area that has a retractable roof…that’s right people retractable roof. And you guys thought they only used those things in sporting arenas.
Now if it’s the VIP experience that you’re looking for, then you’ve come to the Taj Mahal of them. There are multiple VIP areas, as there should be considering the amount of VIP’s that this place sees every time the doors open. Whether it’s Ryan Cabrera, Lo Bosworth, or Rihanna shaking things up inside, they can all be sure that each and every one of their needs will be taken care of. There’s even a 20-person private room, for those real special occasions. Elevated with one-way mirrors and a hell of a view of the party and dance floor below, this tricked out space gives that semi-private retreat and voyeuristic view that everyone looks for when they want that extra touch of ‘special.’
From the descriptions and snapshots, Halo Lounge looks more like a work of art rather than an actual party spot. Only a month old, but already packing that veteran venue punch, there’s still a lot to come from one of Hollywood’s newest hotspots.
