Rumored to open mid-April, Griffin-the new face of the old PM space at 50 Gansevoort-reportedly opened its doors this past weekend. And after roughly a month and a half of online editorial teasers via restoration gurus, Lewis & Dizon, is it possible that Griffin is game-on?
Whether the ‘opening’ is a continuation of rumor or finally a fact, this bronze-encrusted, gothic-nouveau anti-bar is supposed to be everything aesthetic. The bar features fresh fruit and an array of classic, but inventive cocktail ingredients; while the intentionally opposite-of-hip interior boasts large ceiling mirrors, a ceiling fresco and French Colonial-like furniture. An intriguing departure from the typical Meatpacking District ultra-mod lounges, we are pumped, yet still a tad skeptical. Stay tuned…
