Seems like there’s going to be quite the restaurant shake-up going on in the Meatpacking District. According to Downbythehipster, Megu, a globally recognized Japanese restaurant with a luxurious cuisine, has recently been in talk with the landlords at the Merkato 55/Bijoux venue, attempting to possibly take over the space. This is yet another addition of news to the growing rumors of business trouble around that area.
However, this isn’t to say that the Meatpacking District is in dire need of business. Obviously Megu is interested in taking over the space and putting their own twist on the situation. BUT, this does mean that the once famed Merkato brunch party is certainly drawing near the end.
