It's time to say it aloud: Kim Kardashian is not a good fashion role model. It’s not enough to show your skin; you have to know where to show it, how much and in what way. Sorry, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton--CP readers will soon beat you on that one.
Sequins
If you really want to focus the room’s attention in the sea of glamorous gowns, sequins will make you shine. Gold or silver, these useful little decorations are an easy way to make your outfit stand out. And we don’t mean a few tiny pieces here and there; if you want to follow the trend, get the largest sequins out there and splatter them all over your dress. The order doesn’t matter, what matters is the glitz. Check out this Dior showstopper for more ideas.
Peroxide Blonde Hair
Nothing will help you get past that velvet rope as much as this newest hair color hit. We like that, don’t we? So did Brigette Bardot, Marylin Monroe, Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn. According to scientists, the phenomenon of blonds lies simply in the brightness of that color, which attracts attention instantly. People instinctively notice blondes before brunettes, which is just what you need when the bouncer is surveying the lovely ladies who aren't (yet) on the guest list. Effect guaranteed.
Flounces
Ooh la la! Flounces harken back to boudoir bedrooms and buxom bombshells. Tall, skinny girls can pull off the tiered flounce dresses, while curvy maidens should stick to one flounce either around the cleavage or near the hemline, like on this bebe ensemble (shown right). The effect is so whimsical and confectionary that you'll look good enough to eat.
Electric Pink
Ditch the little black dress— it’s a sure way of blending into the crowd like a chameleon. Catch everyone's eye by wearing a well defined color—like electric pink; which happens to be not only sexy, but ultra trendy. Christian Dior sports this daring and luscious hue like crazy on its runways across Europe and the U.S. You can follow the gurus by squeezing into a chic evening dress like Homecoming Cute Dresses by Nika.
Shoes: Stilettos, Peek-a-boo Heels, Laces and Tall Boots
Stilettos—AKA the sexiest footwear ever invented—celebrate a glamorous come-back on runways as well as on the dance floor. True, it takes a J-Lo to learn to dance in these, but once you master the equilibrist’s art, you’ll throw the bouncers to your feet—which soar 4 inches above the ground.
Also, the hottest shoes are allowing a peak of the toes. Cuts are hot in all pieces of clothing, so no matter the cold, the more vents the better. And if your glamorous stilettos are made of reptile leather, like these trendy steals, even better.
Another fashion trend raised back to life are thick, square chunky heels and laced-up booties. The sexiest boots reach above the knee and go great with mini skirts—not to mention the fact that they are best footwear for white and cold winter.
