As usual, those Johnny-come-latelies in LA are the last to celebrate New Year’s in the nation (not counting those other “states,” Alaska and Hawaii), which means they get to send off 2007 with a big ol’ bang.  But beyond the failed actors, flip-flops and faux attitudes, where are LA’s best New Year’s parties to partake in this year?  See below:

Top LA New Year’s Party #1: HARD
The legendary Peaches, 2 Live Crew and JUSTICE guarantee that HARD will be chockfull of raunch, electro and booty-quakin’ beats.  Just wear your brightest American Apparel gear, polish your grill, and master moving each ass cheek independently and LAX you’re good to go.

Top LA New Year’s Party #2:

The Cabana Club
10,000 square feet of stylish settings, cascading waterfalls, a relentlessly trendy Hollywood crowd, and TBA celebrity host. To sweeten the deal, for New Year’s they’re providing three bars, an LED light show, passed appetizers and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. And if the private, fabric, tented booths don’t make you feel like a VIP, then nothing on this planet will.

Top LA New Year’s Party #3: Les Deux
Whoa there, Nelly.  Before you sleep in this New Year’s, just know that Travis Barker, Mickey Avalon and Dirt Nasty will perform live on stage at Les Deux in a 10,000sf tent. Just when you thought your scrawny, pasty man-boy dreams would go unfulfilled.

Top LA New Year’s Party #4: LAX
The waif-wuvin’ owner/DJ AM is corralling all his celebrity pals for another massive New Year’s party for 2008.  If anything, at least you can bump into some TMZ-bait before the clock strikes 12.

Top LA New Year’s Party #5: Area
If MTV filmed The Hills here for last New Year’s, there has to be some post-pubescent drama just waiting to be unleashed for 2008.  Don’t worry, Amy Lou from Alabama, there’ll be a celebrity on deck to host this year.  Stay tuned for more details.
