Top Five Clubs for Ditching a Bad Date

-Navani Oterocrobar.jpg Dating in New York City is always full of what ifs. What if the person is ugly in person, what if they don’t show up, what if it doesn’t workout. Then again what if it does? Some dates not only go well, but they last the entire day! Like one person can’t get enough of a good thing and dinner turns into a movie which turns into drinks and then turns into “Well what are you doing for the rest of the evening.” This is what I like to call classic tag-along syndrome, meaning he/she (due to lack of normal social skills), does not know when to part ways. The other party will proceed to invite themselves to whatever you are doing - whether it is hanging out with friends or going home to eat a pint of ice cream. How do you handle yourself without appearing uncouth? You do what any respectable person would do. You ditch them. Whether you end up on a marathon date, or if the date is just awful to begin with (i.e. the person tells you how much they miss their ex), here are five spots to nonchalantly lose them: Pacha – With showers in the middle of the nightclub there is too much going on for him to stay focused on you. Home/Guest House/Spirit – Because after a few drinks no one knows where one club stops and the other begins. I know people who have gotten lost themselves in here. Send the tag-along to the bar for a drink and make a run for it. Crobar – Not only does this house 2700 people, there is everything from VIP rooms, art galleries, and dance floors – plural. Tell your other half you are feeling very cultural and want to look at some art and watch them run. Avalon – Because it is 20,000 square feet! This church turned ultra modern club space has many secret nooks and passageways similar to a labyrinth. Tell him you’ll race him to the other side for a drink and then slip out of the path with the big lit up sign over it that says exit. Scores – When all else fails suggest going to the nearest “gentlemen’s club”. You can’t lose this way. If you are a guy trying to ditch a female, she will be appalled at the idea and leave while mumbling some not so nice names under her breath. If it is a female trying to ditch a guy, he will love this idea, so you may have to distract him by purchasing him a lap dance and then exit gracefully stage right.
