Hardwell & Joey Dale ft Luciana - Arcadia - [REVEALED]
When you see Luciana on a record, your first expectation is the coarse rap vocal style that made her a club staple in hits like "Yeah Yeah" and "I Like That." So when she does sing, either as Isha Coco or in tracks like "Calling All the Lovers" with Manufactured Superstars, it comes as a pleasant surprise. The massive big room sound of "Arcadia" is everything you would imagine from Hardwell and Revealed label mate Joey Dale. It starts off banging (almost as hard as a Showtek track) and breaks down to pretty synths with a hooky line that feels almost like a fairy tale theme. The energy builds back up to a male vocal line that sounds like "Do you want to go hard or what?" (or could be "Do you want alcohol or what?"). The beats slam back and the vocal comes in during the second break. Luciana sings about taking you to "Arcadia," the mythical wonderland of uncorrupted life. The double meaning of the song is expressed even more clearly in the Alice in Wonderland-themed music video where an innocent girl is lured into drug use and becomes locked in a life of servitude. With all the talks of evils of drug use in the EDM festival scene, the "Arcadia" video might just be the most effective PSA one could imagine.
