Thursday June 26, Day 1
10:18AM- Finally officially on the road after a rocky start leaving my home base of Brooklyn, NY. My trusty sidekick and I left at 5PM last night with a plan to stop in his hometown of Scranton, PA to do some last-minute shopping and get some shut-eye before continuing on our journey. Yeah, we decided to take on rush hour. Around 6:15PM a green semi scraped the side of the soccer mom car we were driving. Thankfully no one was hurt, but it was a huge setback. We waited three hours for the police to show up since the driver of the truck refused to give us him information and left the scene. (The NYPD never showed up ) we get to Scranton at 1:30AM... Fast forward over a last minute Walmart trip and sleep it was 10:18AM.
4:05PM- I was supposed to be interviewing The Glitch Mob, but we are 364 miles away. Don't worry, we've still bringing you something sweet! We also missed Dixon's Violin, who I had wanted to see after hearing Katie tell us about him.
6:35PM- I've been playing around with the Electric Forest app, which is really quite useful for a festival app. Of course you can check the lineup and time schedule, but you can also get notifications for things like 'Bassnectar is playing a secret set' (I wish). or...
"Zeds Dead is about to have a coffee break in the Electric Glen!" - (just happened) The map looks great from a campers point of view. You can get Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram updates just by the tap of a button. Also the 'Forest Cam' is a cool little feature that uses your phone camera to take photos with unique Electric Forest art filters.
9:51PM, about a half hour left to go. We are missing EOTO :( Those guys really rip when they are live. I hope they brought their LED Lotus stage set up. However, the nice thing about the festival is that the sets are so staggered and some artists play on mutiple nights so if you didn't catch round 1, you always have round 2. We're probably going to have parking all the way in the back since we are so late, meaning a long walk back after the festival each night.
