As the house music community and the world of dance music overall continues to mourn the passing of the legendary Frankie Knuckles, his Def Mix partner and one of his dearest friends David Morales shared an incredible letter from The White House on Social Media.
We'll let the letter speak for itself.
This week it was also announced in the Express UK that Sir Elton John has set up a charity in memory of Frankie Knuckles to raise awareness and funding of HIV information and support testing and treatment amongst black communities in Africa, America and UK.
A statement from the superstar singer reads, "Frankie was such a lovely man and a great talent and his legacy provides a powerful voice to reach out to people, particularly men of colour, about their essential role in helping to create an AIDS-free future.”
Tonight in New York City a private memorial event will be hosted by Def Mix to honor Frankie Knuckles at the Liberty Theater. A memorial in Chicago was held last evening Monday April 21st with donations benefiting Diabetes.org and Gay Mens Health Crisis of NYC www.gmhc.org
