Daft Punk Continue To Scoop Up Awards As They Win Again
by Mikey Lavery
Our favorite French DJs Daft Punk are continuing their winning streak since their hugely successful win at the Grammys, as they came away from another awards ceremony with a gong.
After winning Album and Record of the Year at lasts month awards, the robotic duo, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, were awarded the Best International Group at the BRIT Awards in the UK. As Britain’s version of the MTV Video Awards, the BRITs are the country's premier musical showcase.
With Daft Punk winning the award ahead of acts from the rock and alternative scene such as Arcade Fire, Haim, Kings of Leon and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, it further laid claims to the impact of electronic dance music has had on the music scene even further into the public eye and proved there is a long way to go before people get bored of it.
Daft Punk have had a fantastic run after the worldwide success of their single, “Get Lucky” and album, “Random Access Memories” topped charts across the world and with more awards ceremonies to come, we can all be sure that not only will this be a year to remember for Daft Punk, but it will also be electronic music in general.
