is shaping up to be a great year in music. "Dancing On My Own" songstress Robin Miriam Carlsson
, better known as simply 'Robyn
' and the Norwegian wunderkind duo Röyksopp
are "making music again" and will embark on a tour together next year. According to Pitchfork
, the long-time collaborators have announced the 'Röyksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour'
for next year.
The Swedish "Dancehall Queen" tweeted a photo yesterday (Dec. 9) – a selfie in front of Röyksopp
's Svein Berge
and Torbjørn Brundtland
, with a caption reading: "We are making music again. #royksopprobyn". As Robyn
’s Facebook page notes, the Röyksopp & Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014 will be “stopping at carefully selected venues around the world” in Europe, North America, and other locations.
Röyksopp have spoken out about the tour, saying: "We look forward to basking in the warm glow that is Robyn's presence. We predict one helluva ride." Robyn added: "Playing this music live with Svein and Torbjørn is going to be wildly fun!" The long time collaborators worked on Robyn's song "None Of Dem" from her "Body Talk" album in 2010.
Robyn's three-part "Body Talk" series, which included the breakout single "Dancing on My Own," has sold a combined 170,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan
. The acts also collaborated in 2009 on the song 'The Girl and the Robot' (watch the video below), which was featured on Röyksopp's
third album, "Junior".
