Daft Punk Uploads A Song: The World Stands Still

Daft Punk Uploads A Song: The World Stands Still

As heard on a commercial which ran during NBC's Saturday Night Live this past week, Daft Punk are trying to slowly prepare us for their return. The 10 second clip aired on national television on Saturday, March 3rd came so unexpectedly and immediately shook the nation. Daft Punk could sneeze on the internet and everyone and their mothers would be down on bended knee shouting "We're not worthy!" like a scene from Wayne's World. When searching for the Daft Punk commercial through YouTube, you will see overanxious fans looping the 15 seconds of music into a 15 minute loop. Obssessive? Maybe; but they're just that good.

Just a little under 24 hours ago, Daft Punk uploaded the same track that was heard through our televisions onto their official SoundCloud account. The iconic French duo can do no wrong in the eyes of electronic music fans, and have barely done anything at all in almost a decade with the exception of the TRON Legacy soundtrack. The 1 minute and 31 seconds of the untitled song is flooded with comments from fans having borderline heart attacks.  The song is light and soothing, incorporating elements of dance music with an alternative pop-rock feeling. We may not know the name of the song, when it will be released, or what else will be thrown at us in the upcoming weeks and months; but we'll all be waiting patiently with open hearts and minds.
