Port Washington, N.Y.— The votes have all beencounted and it's official — DJ Times magazine and Pioneer DJ are proud toannounce that Markus Schulz has beenvoted America's Best DJ for 2012.
The talentedMiami-based DJ will be honored October 7 in Las Vegas for the ABDJ ClosingParty, which will include a press reception at Marquee Nightclub at TheCosmopolitan of Las Vegas. After being presented with his trophy--a specialGold-Plated Pioneer mixer—Markus will take to the decks along with specialguest A-Trak to cap the wildest Columbus Day weekend Vegas has ever seen. Evenbetter – the party is free!
"I've just found out theamazing news that I've been voted America’s Best DJ—it’s a huge honor and Iwant to thank everyone for their support,” said Markus Schulz from the road, as hecontinued his tour in support of “Scream,” his latest artist album on ArmadaMusic. “It is has been an extraordinarytime for dance music in the United States over the last couple of years. I'dalso like to thank the promoters and all the industry people that have workedso hard throughout the years to help DJ culture come of age. Our scene has beenbuilt from a foundation of respect and admiration for the music. When I’m onstage doing what I love every week, winning awards is the last thing on mymind. So to win this really means an incredible amount to me, and I am humbledby everyone out there who believes in what I do. I'd like to thank DJ Times,its readership and my hugely loyal fans for their incredible degree of supportin this. I'm very proud to represent the booming scene in the US.”
While most of the votes were cast online at the America’s Best DJ website, theAmerica’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times supportedthe contest by allowing fans to vote in-person at 20+ club and festival events.
