Ferry Corsten, here. Man, the festival season has been kicking my ass and it’s only August! [laughs] So, for a brief break, I escaped to one of the most awe-inspiring places on earth recently…Iceland! Outside of Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, you’ll find some of the most breathtaking natural beauty on this planet. You get the beauty and power of nature in all forms in one place. It was amazing: Arctic water-rafting, snowmobiling and camping right at the mouth of a volcano that erupted two years ago and stranded all of us DJs. This trip was exactly what I needed to get me back into the festival season!
Despite taking a break from the music scene, music was in my head throughout the entire trip. The scenery was too beautiful to not get inspired. What a life of extremes, to go from a packed festival with thousands of screaming party people to pristine-but-deserted Iceland, and right back to the festival circuit! I got so inspired during the Iceland trip that I finished a tune I’ve been working on for some time. I’ve read your comments after I played it, and I finally finished the track in Iceland!

Back to reality. Here’s what’s up for August, because festival season is not over yet, peeps. In August you’ll catch me at: Nature One in Kastellaun, Germany; Dance Valley (Full On Ferry stage) in Spaarnwoude, the Netherlands; Street Parade in Zurich, Switzerland; Jordan Awake on the Dead Sea in Jordan; and Creamfields in Daresbury, UK. But wait! I’m coming back to the U.S. and playing Electric Zoo in New York City on Friday, August 31st!
