Went to Element twice: two absolutely different experiences. The first time went for a Carribean night. Had a blast!!!! Great music, great and respectful crowd, great atmosphere. The only drawback was the bar: nasty nasty nasty!!! The second time went on a Saturday night for supposedly great DJ lineup...Felt like I wasted my night: had a much better time driving home and listening to the radio!!! The line at the door was created for no reason as the club was practicaly empty as we got in. Had a ticket for a complimentary drink: here we go with this awful bar again... I came up to the bar with a ticket and some cash for a tip... asked for a drink holding the ticket right in front of the bartender girl. She mixed it up and wanted to charge me $14!! when I repeated that I have a ticket she said its limited to certain drinks only, dumped already mixed drink and gave me some crambery juice with a splash of smth in it!!!! well, I saved that tip for myself and the drink for the bartender herself!!!! As for the DJs....already mentioned below 30sec mix of every possible song ( I wonder how they didnt mix in some country too!!!) made a crowd just stand on the dance floor. There were few good songs but mostly they were cut by some ridiculous rock'n'latin mixes.... As for the crowd: they let everyone in...even obvious pervert guy walking around dance floor and rubbing on EVERY girl "unintentionally". Also there were numerous birthday parties whos names were shouted out by DJs endlessly.... The batrooms are disgusting: dirty and no toilet paper.... the dance floor looked trashed in the middle of the night with glasses and plastic cups rolling around... one more thing about the bar: make sure they give you plastic cups because cleanliness of the glasses is highly questionable judging from spilled alcohol and lemon/lime pieces all over the counters....
Before you go..make sure you know exactly what type of event it is and what DJs are in.

Went there on a Thursday night with my girls. Got in easy....no line, no entrance fee (signed up for a guest list beforehand). The coatcheck girls were extremely sweet and polite. The barattenders were good too. Drinks are expensive, $15 per drink, but it is usual occurance for NYC clubs. The music wasnt good...I love hip hop and reggae but never thought it can be mixed in a way that you cant dance to it whatsoever!!! The crowd was..."no tough door" or "no door" style....we left in 40min and went to a different club.

Went out with my friend couple of nights ago to check it out. We were on promoters complimentary entrance guestlist but still had to pay $20 "reduced cover". The coatcheck girls were very rude and charged for EACH piece of closing separately but still put everything on one hanger and attempted to give only one ticket (to pocket the rest of the money). The bar checked ids with every drink (even thou it was checked at the door). Drinks are overpriced and underserved. The Grey Goose didn't taste as Grey Goose at all: "top clubs" use the same trick of putting cheap vodka into brandname bottles....The music was decent: mix of hip-hop, R&B, rock, and pop. The people were mostly ok.....lack of diversity was very evident thou....Overall experience was ok only due to person who I came with. Will NOT go back.
